Smart TVs from Nokia will use sound solutions from JBL.
famous Finnish company Nokia partnered with Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart. As part of the agreement, sales of smart TVs produced under the Nokia brand will begin in India. Nothing is yet known about the technical characteristics of the new devices. Also, the companies do not report anything on the cost and possible launch date. It is only known that these devices will use sound solutions from JBL.
By the way, this is not the first time when Nokia TVs appear on the market. The Finnish company already produced such products in the early 90s of the last century. But she did not have much success, it is possible that this time everything will be different. In any case, this will be the brand's first entry into the Indian TV market.
Cooperation with Flipkart will allow Nokia to develop a new market segment. Well, since the Indian company is well aware of local realities and understands what Indian users need, such a partnership opens up new horizons for the Finnish brand. But it also sheds light on the current position of the once-legendary brand, which is now becoming just a big name used by different companies to better market.
The Indian smart TV market is growing at a rapid pace. Today, it features solutions from a wide variety of brands, including Flipkart's own brand, MarQ by Flipkart. Under it, devices with diagonals from 24 to 65 inches are produced, costing from $100 to $1000.
At the same time, Nokia is not the first brand to establish such a partnership. Previously, Flipkart has already started selling smart TVs under by Motorola. They were presented in September this year. Models are available from 32" to 65", priced from $200 to $900. At the same time, the younger model has an HD resolution (1366 × 768 pixels), while the older one boasts a 4K resolution (3840 × 2160 pixels).
