The company's line of high-performance hard disk drives (HDDs) Seagate. These models have quite modest, by today's standards, volumes, differing in exceptionally high speed and reliability. These are solutions for servers and special systems.
The Cheetahs were introduced in October 1996. The first models had a spindle speed of 10,000 rpm - almost twice as high as that of the then HDD for home computers (a "home" model with 7200 rpm would appear only a year later).
Now the "speed" of these HDDs reaches 15,000 rpm. For the first time, a model with such a speed (X15) was introduced in February 2000. A year later, the second generation was introduced. The third generation has already received the name 15K.3.
All HDDs in the Cheetah line are 3.5-inch.
