Sports giant Adidas is preparing to open its own POAP, a platform for organizing events to distribute unique digital tokens among users. POAP (Proof of Attendance Protocol) are unique NTF tokens that are issued to participants in both virtual and real events.
The platform is created to identify the most dedicated followers of Adidas - members of the Confirmed app. The company also posted a link to POAP on its official Twitter account, opening up access to the brand's shared fanbase.
“For those who are looking for new playgrounds where the possibilities are endless, we invite you to join us and take a journey to the Metaverse,” commented the press service of Adidas.
Adidas captioned its cryptic message with “WAGMI,” short for “We're all gonna make it,” slang commonly used by crypto traders as a positive reaction to good news related to their assets.
“This digital collectible is our way of rewarding you for following your curiosity: this token proves you've been here since the beginning of this journey. Take care of it - it can come in handy, ”the message says.
Experts do not exclude that in the future Adidas may begin to accept tokens in exchange for their own products, although there has not yet been official confirmation of such information, writes Highsnobiety.
