The Live Anywhere on Airbnb program from the rental service offers travelers a unique opportunity. The company will provide 12 travelers (each of whom can have up to three companions) the opportunity to live a nomadic lifestyle for a whole year, renting accommodation around the world - and all this at the expense of Airbnb.
The lucky ones, who will be selected among all applicants, will help the service choose directions for development, inform about useful and necessary tools, report on the benefits of long-term travel, including financial ones, master innovative products, and also promote the very idea of a nomadic lifestyle as consonant modern lifestyle.
Airbnb is reaching out to remote workers, freelancers, young families with grown-up children, and other types of travelers whose lifestyles fit into a year-long trip around the world. You can apply on the official Airbnb website until June 30, 2021, and the trip itself will take place from July 2021 to July 2022.
In exchange for the 12 members expanding their long-term rental experience as a lifestyle, Airbnb will provide them with all the facilities they need to do so. Among them are payment for accommodation, reimbursement of transportation costs, assistance in choosing an offer for accommodation and providing a list of locations, as well as comprehensive assistance in mastering local realities and gaining experience of living in a particular country.
The reason for the launch of such an extraordinary program was the growing popularity of long-term rental housing. According to an Airbnb report, the share of booked houses and apartments where guests plan to stay 28 days or longer increased by 10% in the first quarter of 2021 compared to 2019.
Consumer interest is increasingly leaning towards such a nomadic lifestyle, and the company is looking for ways to meet the growing demand, which does not yet have well-established ways of implementation, as well as proven tools and services. The lifestyle of people around the world is transforming, largely due to the growing popularity of remote work, and the service is striving to adapt to the new reality as much as possible.
