The initiative aims to keep customers connected with tailors and artisans.
American film actress Angelina Jolie has announced the launch of her own fashion brand, Atelier Jolie. The initiative aims to enable customers with tailors and artisans to create bespoke garments from vintage and outdated fabrics.
According to Jolie, the fashion brand creates a space where "creatives can collaborate with an experienced and diverse family of skilled tailors, designers and artisans from around the world."
“It stems from my appreciation and deep respect for the many tailors and makers I have worked with over the years, a desire to use high-quality vintage materials and existing fabrics, and to be part of a movement to cultivate more self-expression,” Jolie commented.
The brand will officially launch in the fall of 2023. Jolie expects the new venture to promote equity and inclusion by “assembling a diverse team, including refugee interns and other talented, underserved groups, with meaningful, skills-based positions.”
