The initiative aims to keep customers connected with tailors and artisans.
American film actress Angelina Jolie has announced the launch of her own fashion brand, Atelier Jolie. The initiative aims to enable customers with tailors and artisans to create bespoke garments from vintage and outdated fabrics.
According to Joly, the fashion brand creates a space where "creative people can collaborate with an experienced and diverse family of skilled tailors, fashion designers, and artisans from around the world."
“It stems from my appreciation and deep respect for the many tailors and makers I’ve worked with over the years, a desire to make use of the high-quality vintage material and deadstock fabric already available and also to be part of a movement to cultivate more self-expression,” Jolie continues. Slated to launch in the fall, the brand’s will also drive forward equity and inclusion as it “will bring together a diverse team, including apprenticeships for refugees and other talented, under-appreciated groups, with positions of dignity based on skill.”
The brand will officially launch in the fall of 2023.
