The starting price for the 15-inch MacBook Air is $1299.
Apple has officially unveiled its new 15-inch MacBook Air. According to the manufacturer, it is the thinnest in history. The model features a 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display and a silent fanless design. The performance of the laptop is up to 18 hours.
"With an all-new six-speaker sound system, the 15-inch MacBook Air delivers immersive Spatial Audio, along with a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, MagSafe charging, and the power and ease of macOS Ventura for an unrivaled experience.," the press release notes.
Pre-orders for the new laptop in the U.S. market have already begun, and deliveries will begin on June 12. The 13-inch MacBook Air with M2 has a starting price of $1099, $100 less than the previous model, and the 15-inch is $1299.
“We’re thrilled to introduce the first 15-inch MacBook Air. With its incredible performance and striking design, the new MacBook Air is the world’s best 15-inch laptop. And it’s only possible with Apple silicon,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering. “From its expansive Liquid Retina display and remarkably thin and fanless design, to extraordinary battery life and an immersive six-speaker sound system, the new MacBook Air has it all.”
World's thinnest 15" laptop
The new MacBook Air is just 11.5 mm thick, making it the thinnest 15-inch notebook in the world. And it weighs just 1.5 kilograms (3.3 pounds). Compared to the average laptop of its kind, it's less than half a pound and nearly 40 percent thinner.
The MacBook Air also features a MagSafe charger, two Thunderbolt ports for connecting accessories, an external display with up to 6K resolution, and a 3.5mm headphone jack for universal connectivity.
The new laptop comes in four colors - midnight, starry, space gray and silver.
With the M2 chip, the 15-inch MacBook Air is 12 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air. And compared to the top-selling 15-inch Core i7-based PC notebook, the new MacBook Air is twice as fast.
MacBook Air has a powerful 8-core processor with four efficient cores, a 10-core graphics processor for lightning-fast graphics, and a 16-core neural engine.
