It seems that Apple once again will be able to turn the market. This time - the market of educational literature. The program presented by the company iBooksAuthor allows authors to create interactive textbooks that can be learned using iPad.
Actually, Apple didn't invent anything new, interactive tutorials have been around for years. The merit of the company lies in standardization, in convenience - it has never been so easy to create textbooks. Anyone can learn how to use the program, it is not much different from a word processor Pages. After completing the work on the textbook, it can just as easily be sent to iBooks.
Apple has already entered into agreements with Pearson, McGraw Hill и Houghton Mifflin Harcourt - the largest publishers in the United States, specializing in educational literature.
There is really one caveat - books created with the help of iBooksAuthor, can only be distributed through iBooks. However, it is logical, the company simply does not make sense to create a program and distribute it for free in order for others to earn money on it.
