For example, the first representative of the Barrakuda family, which appeared at the end of 2000, was the world's first hard drive with a capacity of 180 GB.
It was the Barrakuda drive that won in February 2005 the title of the best hard drive, according to PC World.
The Barrakuda series is constantly updated with new models. Not without curiosities. For example, the 2TB Barracuda XT model introduced in the second half of 2009 is capable of working with the SATA 6Gb/s standard. And everything would be fine, but there were simply no motherboards supporting this standard at the time the disc was released. Seagate acted ahead of the curve, and the disk presented by it became, at the time of its appearance, the leader in its class.
