The company started its activity in 1986. Initially, its only products were XT form factor motherboards. Maybe not the most advanced, but affordable and fairly reliable. Motherboards to this day are the main source of income, bringing most of the profits. The company was one of the first to allow consumers of its products to engage in overclocking without voiding their warranty.
The development of the company, not burdened by bright events, was stable. As a result, Biostar ranked among the top twenty Taiwanese brands in 2008 (Top 20 Taiwan Global Brand 2008).
The company's headquarters is located in Sindian, Taiwan. There are production facilities both in the native country and in China (since 1990).
