Canadian company R.I.M.owning a world famous brand blackberry, told about her plans to abandon the struggle for a place in the consumer market. Competition with iPhone and smartphones running Android, its devices are not able to withstand.
R.I.M. fully focus on what she started with and what she does best. It is known that the company's solutions have always been highly valued among corporate users. So it was decided to pay more attention to this particular direction, without scattering forces.
An attempt to create a smartphone with a full touch screen, devoid of the QWERTY keyboard so familiar to fans of the brand (which, according to legend, even formed the basis of the brand name - with it the device remotely resembles a berry) was not crowned with noticeable success. The device was not to the liking of either ordinary consumers or corporate ones. The developers were also dissatisfied, who now had to deal with the adaptation of the applications they created for two types of devices at once.
As a result, it was not possible to conquer the consumer market. Moreover, dissatisfied with the policy R.I.M. business representatives began to abandon the company's products in favor of the same iPhone. All this could not but affect the level of the company's income and the value of its shares, which began to plummet.
The company's management believes that following the old, time-tested tactics will only benefit the company.
