At the choice of buyers, BMW will offer Coupe and Cabrio versions of the car, as well as a special “charged” Competition modification.
The German manufacturer BMW has introduced an updated family of cars M8. The model is built on the upgraded M850i base and is equipped with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission and a 600-625 hp 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which was previously used in the most powerful version of the M5 sedan.
The updated version of the M8 has already been named by experts as the most powerful and fastest two-door production car in the history of BMW. The new M8 will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. The car's top speed will be limited to 250 km/h, or 305 km/h with the M Driver's package.
Cars of the new M8 family will receive an adaptive suspension, 20-inch wheels, sports seats, all-wheel drive and an active M-differential, as well as the ability to activate 2WD mode with rear-wheel drive. As an additional option, BMW will offer aerodynamic body elements made of composite materials.
The first premiere of the BMW M8 will take place in June 2019 in Munich. Official sales of the new M8 in European markets will begin in September. The M8 Coupe will start at $133,000 and the Cabrio will start at $142,500. "Charged versions" of the Competition will cost between $146,000 and $155,500, respectively.
