Group management Daimler made a decision according to which cars under the brand Maybach will no longer be issued. The reason for this lies in their low popularity and inability to compete Bentley и Rolls Royce.
So, last year only 157 cars were sold. Maybach. For comparison, Rolls Royce realized for the same period 2711 cars. Resurrect the legend Daimler did not succeed. Just as it was not even possible to return the funds invested in it.
To replace Maybach it is planned to introduce the new Mercedes-Benz S-class, the number of models of which will be increased to six - from a coupe to a seven-meter long limousine. If desired, the consumer can decorate the interior with the most expensive materials, reaching the top of luxury. To date, the level of sales of the S-class (in different trim levels) reaches 80,000 cars per year.
Release Maybach will be completely phased out by 2013.
