The Chinese manufacturer of personal computers and smartphones Lenovo will return to the Russian market in the second half of 2019.
Mobilidi, part of the RDC Group, will become the exclusive distributor of the brand. The group also develops Chinese brands Xiaomi and Hisense in Russia.
In the near future, sales of Lenovo smartphones will start in the Hitbuy retail chain, federal retailers specializing in the sale of digital equipment, as well as in the company's own online store. Information about the upcoming sale of new Lenovo smartphones confirmed in the united company Svyaznoy-Euroset.
By the beginning of 2017, Lenovo held a leading position among Chinese brands in the Russian market - the company accounted for 7% of smartphone sales. Since April, deliveries of smartphones to Russia have ceased, as the company has relied on sales of the Motorola brand it controls. As a result, it was not possible to gain a foothold in the Russian market with new products, and the company's share in the smartphone market was reduced to 1%.
Experts believe that Lenovo has a good chance of regaining a significant share of the Russian smartphone market. Devices from the Chinese brand in the lower and middle price segments will compete with Honor, Huawei and Xiaomi products.
It is expected that models costing from 6 to 14 thousand rubles will be brought to the market. Consumer demand for smartphones in Russia continues to grow: in particular, sales of devices costing from 10 to 20 thousand rubles in the first half of 2019 increased by 20%.
