Google has begun distributing Android 10, which is currently only available for Pixel smartphones.
Updates for smartphone users from other manufacturers will appear before the end of 2019, the exact dates have not yet been announced. By Google statement, the company is working with a number of manufacturers to update their devices.
For a long time, versions of Android received "sweet" names. The tenth version was the first, the designation of which will simply be a digital index. This was done because of the confusion and difficulty with the pronunciation of names for people who do not speak English. In addition, many users already preferred to call system versions by numbers.
AT new Android version a lot of attention was paid to security issues. Also added is a dark theme, new gestures and tools that allow users to block interfering applications (Focus Mode) and much more.
Dark theme
As such, the dark theme appeared in the previous version of Android. However, it was limited to only certain user interface elements. Now the dark theme will be applied to both the user interface of the system and to certain applications. For example, YouTube, Google Fit, Google Keep, and Google Calendar already support dark mode. Gmail and Chrome will later receive support for it. Over time, there will be support for applications from third-party developers.
New gestures
As more and more smartphones are getting large screens across the front, Goolge has decided to put more emphasis on navigation and standardize on gestures. According to the company, the new gesture controls make it much easier to use the smartphone with one hand. However, they will take some getting used to.
Privacy & Security
A lot of attention was paid to security issues. In particular, now all security updates will be sent directly through Google Play and users will not have to wait until the manufacturer of their smartphone takes care of this (and often this does not happen at all). Also in your Google Account controls and Android settings, you'll now see more tools for keeping track of what apps are doing.
Focus Mode
Thanks to Focus Mode, users will be able to temporarily disable all kinds of instant messengers and social networking applications that distract from work. Messages from these applications will be blocked, and if you automatically try to launch them, you will receive a notification that Focus Mode is currently enabled. This is another way to use your smartphone to get rid of the habits that have appeared thanks to ... a smartphone.
Accessibility and more
"Ten" received a lot of additional features, many of which will definitely appeal to users. For example, the Live Caption app (coming soon) is capable of captioning video and audio in real time. Thanks to Family Link, it will be more convenient for parents to keep track of their children's activities. The system also boasts improved support for devices with folding screens, hearing aids and 5G networks.
