Clothing manufacturer Diesel has teamed up with Coca-Cola to launch a new collection of apparel made from partially recycled materials.
Called Diesel x Coca-Cola: (Re) Collection, the collection features recycled cotton fabrics and accessories made from recycled plastic bottles. It includes various things, the distinguishing feature of which is the presence of recognizable bright red stripes with Coca-Cola logos.
The idea of the creators is to show consumers that they can buy fashionable clothes and at the same time contribute to the preservation of the environment. According to the message on the Diesel website, such clothes should be worn with pride (“Wear with pride”). The launch of (Re)Collection comes amid efforts by environmentalists and policy makers to encourage consumers to think about how they can change their consumption habits to help reduce CO2 emissions.
But everything is not limited to this. Before appearing in stores, the collection will be available for sale on the Diesel website, on a special secret page. In order to access it, users will need to scan any recycling symbol. This simple quest will allow you to make a purchase a little earlier than most buyers.
The clothing line will also be presented in department store Galeries Lafayette in Paris, debuting at a special event as part of Paris Fashion Week. As part of the collection's global rollout, additional recycling-themed events will be held in London, Berlin, Milan, Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, Amsterdam and New York.
Special collections dedicated to environmental issues are gradually becoming the norm for leading clothing manufacturers. So, in 2018, Lacoste created a special line to raise consumer awareness of endangered species.
