The innovative drink was developed based on the classic Corona Extra recipe.
Owned by Constellation Brands Inc. Beer maker Corona has announced the launch of a new product - the first non-alcoholic beer in its history with a high content of vitamin D.
The new Corona Sunbrew 0.0% symbolizes going outside and allows consumers to walk towards the sunlight at any time of the day, regardless of the season, the company's press service said.
Born on the beach, Corona is committed to 'outdoors' consumption.
“We believe that outdoors is the best way for people to relax. Feeling the sun is one of the things people love most about being out in nature and the Corona brand is constantly innovating to remind them of that feeling,” commented Corona Global Vice President Felipe Ambra.
The new Corona Sunbrew 0.0% was developed from the classic Corona Extra recipe by extracting alcohol and then blending non-alcoholic beer with vitamin D and natural flavors to achieve the final result. The drink provides 30% of the Daily Value of Vitamin D and 60 calories per 330 ml serving.
“The journey was not easy because vitamin D is sensitive to oxygen and light, and is also poorly soluble in water. But thanks to our continued investment in innovation and research, our team has been able to create the only non-alcoholic beer with vitamin D, presenting a unique opportunity in the market,” said Brad Weaver, Global Vice President of Innovation Research and Development, ABInBev.
With the launch of the drink, the brand aims to demonstrate to consumers the commitment to sensible drinking. IWSR predicts that by 2024 the volume of non-alcoholic products on the market will grow to 31%.
To support its new product, Corona will introduce a new creative campaign about enjoying Sunshine Anytime. The promotional video for Corona Sunbrew 0.0% was filmed on the beaches in Costa Rica by DAVID Miami advertising agency and directed by Juan Cabral.
