The Spanish automaker has officially unveiled its first standalone production car.
Spanish automaker Cupra, subsidiary brand of the Spanish company Seat, introduced his first own production car. They became a sports crossover Formentor with a 310-horsepower engine and all-wheel drive. The serial car resembles the concept shown in 2019 at the International Motor Show in Geneva. The crossover is built on the MQB platform with a length of 4450 mm, a width of 1511 mm and a height of 2680 mm.
The Formentor will come with both a standard and a hybrid engine, which consists of a 1.4-liter turbo engine and a 115-horsepower electric motor. On one charge, the car will be able to travel a distance of up to 50 km. The performance of a standard 2-liter engine will be 310 hp. and 400 Nm of torque. This motor is currently equipped with the new station wagons Leon Sportswagon.
First crossover Cupra equipped with a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system (connectable to Ap§ple CarPlay and Android Auto), smart interior lighting and a fully digital instrument cluster. Electronic assistants are available as options, including adaptive cruise control and a tracking system for “blind” sections of the road Exit Assist, which also works in parking mode. The crossover's futuristic interior is finished in navy blue or black with copper and aluminum details.
It is expected that the official sales of the first production car Cupra in dealerships around the world will begin in the fourth quarter of 2020. Pricing information for the Formentor has yet to be revealed.
