The famous home goods retailer and the design team Teenage Engineering from Sweden presented the results of their cooperation.
Ikea announced a home audio collaboration with designers Teenage Engineering two and a half years ago. And the result of the joint work was Frekvens speakers, which means “Frequency” in Swedish. They will go on sale from January 23rd.
The line will consist of two types of speakers, a larger model for $69.99 and a more portable version for $19.99, equipped with a belt clip. Also available is a combo subwoofer for $149 and a backlit speaker base for $10.
When creating speakers, the designers did not try to hide them, but, on the contrary, to make audio equipment a separate piece of furniture that will take its rightful place in the interior. Frekvens speakers will definitely not get lost in even the most unusually furnished room and can give a lot of ideas to those who want to fill the space with bright details.
Together with speakers Ikea presented other accessories, which, according to the creators of the collection, are perfect for holding a home party in a minimalist style. This includes various lamps that can be connected to the speakers into a single system, dishes, tables, and other accessories, including such unusual ones as the cajon percussion musical instrument and a reflective raincoat.
When working on the collection, the designers tried to imagine what could be useful for organizing a spontaneous party and how all items can be combined with each other in a single youthful and free style.
