Obviously, the main distinguishing feature of all three presented iPhone models was the improvement of the camera system.
Even the younger model in the face of the iPhone 11, which is the successor to the iPhone XR, received two cameras at once, which used to be the prerogative of top models (for the first time, a two-camera system was used in the iPhone 7 Plus). As for the older Pros, they now boast three lenses at once. In addition to the regular camera, the new models now have a telephoto camera as well as a 120-degree super wide-angle camera. All three main cameras, as well as the front one, are 12 megapixels. All this was done to increase the photographic capabilities of devices.
Unlike cameras, smartphones do not have the ability to change lenses (except through rather specific accessories). For this reason, manufacturers go to such a trick as increasing the number of cameras on phones, when each is designed to solve certain tasks. And three cameras on the iPhone is far from a record. It would even be more correct to say that such a number is already becoming the norm for top models, and on the market you can find solutions with 4 and 5 cameras. Naturally, a lot of cameras are a sign of an advanced device.
Each camera is used for a different situation. So, in the case of the iPhone, thanks to the telephoto lens, shooting of distant objects is better, and the super wide-angle lens will allow you to “shove” as much as possible into one frame. In other words, a smartphone with multiple cameras will be a godsend for users who like to take photos or shoot videos, and do it often.
But the photographic capabilities of the new iPhones are not limited to the number of lenses. So, the presence of the Deep Fusion function allows you to take 9 pictures at once, combining them into one, so that the image becomes more detailed. Portrait mode allows you to take great portrait shots. The front camera is now capable of creating slow-motion 4K video. And the Night Mode function, which can turn on automatically, will allow you to take high-quality pictures in very low light conditions. In fact, there are a lot of options available to users, which, in the best traditions of Apple, will be very simple to use.
It should be noted here that all these additional features have become possible thanks not only to cameras, but also to the new A13 Bionic processor and advanced software. So, when using Night Mode, several shots are taken at once, and optical stabilization is actively used. Then special software comes into play, which reduces noise, processes too blurry areas, increases contrast and adjusts colors.
It should also be noted that 3 cameras play another important role - thanks to them, the device becomes recognizable. Now, the presence of a square zone with three cameras arranged in a triangle is a hallmark of older iPhones. For the same users who care little about the camera, but who want a smartphone with a long-lasting battery and a large screen, Apple has left the iPhone XR on sale, which is now more affordable.
