Dopod was founded on June 1, 2002. In the same year, the first communicator of the company appeared, which received the unpretentious name Dopod 686 (it was based on a device from Qtek – model Qtek 1010). It was a touch screen device running Pocket PC 2002. A year later, the first smartphone without touch control appeared - Dopod 515 (Qtek 6080).
In 2006 the company NTS repurchased over 50% shares Dopodturning it into its subsidiary. After that, the latter acquired a new logo. Pretty good, by the way. And outwardly attractive and carrying a bunch of different meanings (at least the company itself insists on this) - here you have binary code and Asian mysticism and other devilry.
Now branded Dopod, HTC presents its devices and accessories to the markets of Australia and most Asian countries.
The company's headquarters is located in Taipei, Taiwan (Taipei City, Taiwan).
