Company Ford announced that it will actively use the Prediction API system developed by Google and has already submitted a prototype. This technology predicts driver behavior based on past experience and makes driving more optimized and economical.
For a certain period of driving, the system accumulates a fairly large amount of information: about regular routes, routines, speeds in different sections, etc. It is this information that is planned to be used to optimize vehicle control. The developments will be implemented in models with electric motors and hybrids, their main task will be to reduce energy consumption.
Making assumptions about the possible conditions of the trip, the system will check with the driver and, if its assumptions are confirmed, will plan the engine in the most optimal way, which implies a reduction in fuel consumption and the number of refuelings. In addition, data will also be obtained from a network source, for example, data on traffic jams, which the driver may not know about.
Putting such a system into operation will only be possible after several years of development.
