Company Olympus, currently experiencing significant financial difficulties, received a cooperation proposal from the Japanese corporation fujifilm. If the negotiations are successful and the initiative is approved by the regulators, a new alliance will appear on the market.
Olympus, a well-known Japanese manufacturer of optics, photographic equipment and medical equipment, is going through hard times. A series of scandals related to the covering of losses by the top managers of the company and the provision of false information in order to cover losses, have led to the fact that today the company is forced to survive.
Assistance was received from the investment fund TPG, the size of it amounted to about a billion dollars. Also, proposals for possible cooperation were sent to Panasonic, Sony, Canon и fujifilm, the latter responded and now negotiations are underway on the forms of the future alliance. The main changes are expected to occur in the field of medical equipment manufacturing, other areas of the companies' activities are also planned to be merged.
