The French brand has introduced the third generation of smart watches – Tambour Horizon Light Up.
Luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton, in an effort to bridge the gap between fashion and technology, has released a new luxury smartwatch, the $3,300 Tambour Horizon Light Up.
The French brand has unveiled the third generation of smartwatches five years after it entered a new tech segment. The Tambour Horizon is made of stainless steel and features a 1.2-inch sapphire crystal display that lights up whenever a notification is received.
Inside the watch, under the ring of the Monogram dial, there are 24 LED indicators. The new version of the watch received an updated processor based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 platform.
Louis Vuitton made the first decision to abandon Google's Wear OS operating system and joined the Motorola, Huawei and OnePlus brands that have succeeded in developing their own operating system. Thus, the new Tambour Horizons no longer support Google Pay, but boast, for example, the presence of Alipay, which will appeal to Chinese consumers.
The operating system is compatible with Android and iOS and has a basic set of necessary functions such as alarm, stopwatch, alarm clock, stopwatch, call, email and message notifications.
The new Louis Vuitton smartwatch also supports heart rate monitoring and daily step counting, monitors air quality and weather, and makes city travel itineraries using Lonely Planet travel guides.
The personalization service allows the Tambour Horizon owner to choose one of the watch faces, add their own initials, color or font. The software update for the new model is scheduled for January 14th.
Experts note that due to the high cost, the product is unlikely to become a mass product. The new ultra lux category smartwatches are rather designed for connoisseurs of high fashion who want to improve their business with technology. Worldwide, the watch will go on sale from January 14th. In the US, the cost of watches will vary, depending on the color and material of execution, ranging from 3300 to 3600 dollars.
