IBM, one of the world's largest IT companies, has announced an agreement with a Brazilian corporation EBX, which is owned by Brazilian billionaire Eike Batista.
According to the terms of the deal, IBM acquires 20% shares SIX Automacao, subsidiary EBX Groupspecializing in technology. The amount of the purchase was not disclosed. In return, the corporation receives a contract worth 1 billion US dollars for a period of 10 years. IBM will provide the Brazilian corporation with the introduction of modern technological solutions.
After approval for the post of General Director (CEO) IBM Virginia Rometty, which occurred at the end of 2011, the company announced its intention to significantly increase its presence in emerging markets. The completed transaction will allow IBM to take an important place in the markets of South America.
