The device can work autonomously for up to 80 hours.
IKEA continues to strengthen its position in the home electronics market with the release of a new device from the Vappeby series. We are talking about a waterproof home speaker costing only $15. For comparison, a device of a similar class from JBL costs $40, and the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3 sells for $100.
The Bluetooth speaker is available in three colors - red, yellow and black. The device can work autonomously for up to 80 hours if you play music at 50 percent of the maximum volume. The speaker can be paired with a pair to create surround sound. As for water protection, the Vappeby can operate while immersed in liquid for thirty minutes.

"We hope customers will embrace this speaker and hope it adds value to their lives by allowing them to enjoy sound from anywhere," IKEA commented, noting that the device was designed with a focus on simple features.
The new Bluetooth speaker becomes part of IKEA's range of devices for home use along with the chargers, quality monitors and air purifiers introduced earlier.
