Japanese automaker Infiniti has announced plans to launch a new model.
In the summer of 2020, the Infiniti QX55 sports coupe-crossover will go into mass production, thanks to which the brand will expand its own model line. The announcement was made at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, an annual car charity event in California.
Currently, the technical characteristics of the new car are kept secret. Infiniti has published the only teaser with the silhouette of the crossover. The report says that the design of the new model's descending roofline refers to the first-generation FX crossover. It is expected that the world premiere of the new QX55 will take place in the winter of 2019-2020. Infiniti is expected to release a coupe version of the QX50, which is smaller than the FX and built on a different transverse engine platform.
“The Infiniti QX55 is a stunning new crossover coupe at the heart of one of the fastest growing industry segments worldwide. Customers will appreciate the QX55's distinctive design with a sporty coupe line. We know that customers and retailers are looking forward to the QX55, which will be available next year,” said Infiniti Motor Company Vice Chairman Mike Colleran.
This year Infiniti Notes his 30th birthday. Earlier it was reported that the company's plans for the next three years is the electrification of its portfolio of cars. Currently, the Japanese brand's production facilities are concentrated in Japan, North America and China.
