The sneaker collection is dedicated to Chicago, host of the 2020 NBA All-Star Game.
Chicago prepares to host the 69th All-Star Game in NBA history. The city will host the NBA All-Star Game for the third time after 1973 and 1988. To pay tribute to Michael Jordan and the iconic Chicago Bulls of the '90s, Jordan, Nike and Converse have unveiled a collection featuring 18 unique pieces that expand on iconic silhouettes.
The collection includes sneakers from the three main divisions of the Nike family - both functional sports and lifestyle sneakers. Each model has been filled with history, rich color schemes and special details to arouse genuine interest from both basketball fans and fashion sneaker lovers in general.

This collection emphasizes Jordan's distinctive styles, which pay direct homage to the Windy City. Most notable in the series is the "New Beginnings" set, which combines a pair of Air Jordan 1 Hi '85 and Air Ship shoes. Thus, the brand shows recognition of the first ever model, as well as the silhouette that Jordan wore before the brand named after him was born. This is perhaps the most authentic reissue of the iconic Air Jordan 1 to date. Other looks in the collection are also created by designers inspired by Chicago culture.

Nike's follow-up to the collection focuses entirely on Hardwood, a televised series featuring some of the greatest games in NBA history. Designed for the power and speed of LeBron James, the iconic LeBron 17 sneakers take on the "Monstars" look ahead of the forthcoming release of Space Jam 2. The Kyrie 6 is crafted in a red and gold colorway to pay homage to the Chicago home team.

Rounding out the collection are four looks from the true basketball brand Converse, which in years past was considered the main trademark in the NBA. The line includes a modern interpretation of the All Star Pro BB in gray and white, as well as a model with stylistic updates with traditional red and navy blue accents. The Pro Leather, on the other hand, comes in either light or pastel blue, a nod to Michael Jordan, who played for Converse during his North Carolina show.

The new Jordan, Nike, and Converse models are expected to debut on the official Nike and Nike SNKRS online stores in January-February 2020, although major releases will coincide with All-Star Weekend in Chicago February 14-16. .
