McDonald's has opened a refurbished flagship in New York's Times Square, one of the busiest places in the United States.
The restaurant used to be the most visited of all owned by the chain. Now we can expect that the number of visitors will increase even more.
The new restaurant has an area of 11,199 sq. feet (approximately 1040 sq.m.) and boasts three levels of glass walls from floor to ceiling. From some places in the room there is a beautiful view from above into the heart of Times Square. The first thing that catches your eye when approaching the building is a huge billboard with an area of 9,280 square meters. feet (approximately 680 sq. m.). However, this is far from a record, but only the third largest of all the billboards installed in Times Square.
Inside, visitors will find a room for 173 seats, the interior of which is decorated in the latest trends. It includes many of the technical improvements that the company has been implementing over the past few years. These are boards with a digital menu, self-service kiosks (18 in total), mobile terminals, elevators for lifting food to the second floor, as well as wireless chargers for mobile devices built into the tables. At the same time, the stop is characterized by minimalism; metal and wood were actively used in the design. The design of the building and the development of the interior were carried out by Landini Associates and Progressive AE, specializing in these areas.
By the way, according to CNBC, McDonald's plans to spend about $1 billion this year to upgrade 2,000 facilities across the country.
