American rap artist Kanye West, a billionaire and winner of 21 Grammy awards, decided to expand his own business and enter the production of goods for the home.
According to the Hypebeast portal, the musician applied for registration of a new brand shortly after the release of his next studio album "Donda", which managed to top the national charts in more than 150 countries around the world.
Little is known about the new business project of the 44-year-old musician. The "Kanye West" trademark, under which household products will be made, is being registered under the artist's Mascotte Holdings Inc. At the first stage, home textiles, towels, bed linen, curtains, etc. will be put into production.
Earlier, in 2020, West's ex-wife Kim Kardashian announced her desire to engage in the production of household goods. She registered her own brand KKW Home for the new project. Experts do not rule out that the two projects may eventually be linked.
At the end of August, Kanye West announced his intention to officially change his name to his stage name "Ye". It is known that the musician has already filed documents with the Los Angeles Supreme Court. With an annual income of $170 million, according to Forbes, West is now the second highest paid musician in the world.
