Reebok's Classic Leather, introduced back in 1983, received an unusual detail - a split toe.
French fashion house Maison Margiela and American sportswear and footwear brand Reebok presented their new collaboration. The popular Classic Leather sneaker model was first shown to the public through the Instagram of popular media person Kim Kardashian.
A picture of an unpacked box of shoes appeared on her Instagram Stories. It shows a model of the new sneakers, in a combination of white and silver-gray colors, and the designers tried to give the impression that the sneakers were hand-painted white. The laces also repeat the gray color of the tongue.
The Classic Leather model features Reebok's signature leather upper and durable rubber outsole with signature split toe, familiar to fashion aficionados from Margiela's Tabi shoe line.
The tongue of the sneaker has a branded digital code with a circled number 22, which shows that the sneakers belong to this category. The logos of the two brands are also visible on the tongue and on the packaging.
The picture also shows a roll of self-adhesive tape with the logos of the creators of the model, which will probably go as an accessory with the purchase of sneakers. In addition, there are suggestions that special split-toe socks will also come with the new model.
In September 2020, Reebok and Maison Margiela already presented a similar collaboration. Then, in a similar way, the model of Instapump Fury sneakers was rethought, which received a forked toe. Now it was decided to continue the development of this idea and present to the buyers a more classic model with a sock that resembles Japanese tabi socks in shape.
No word yet on when the new sneakers will be available or priced, but both brands are expected to make announcements in the coming weeks.
