Hong Kong Corporation Hutchison Whampoa announced its deal to take over the Austrian mobile operator Orange Austria. The deal was valued at US$1.3 billion. It will be completed by the middle of this year.
At the same time, 65% of the operator's shares will be purchased from the investment fund Mid Europa Partners, and the rest is France Telecom.
Interestingly, this is not the first purchase Hutchison Whampoa in Austria. She already owns a mobile operator Three, which is the fourth in the country in terms of the number of subscribers. As for Orange Austria, then this operator is the third in a row, it owns the 20% market, it is second only to T Mobile и Telekom Austria.
It is also reported that this investment Hutchison Whampoa in the Austrian mobile market does not end there. The company is also pursuing a rather aggressive policy in the Australian market.
