General Motors has begun the registration process for a new logo designed specifically for the Hummer EV, which is expected to be unveiled this fall.
The trademark registration news confirms that the name of the new electric vehicle will indeed be the Hummer EV, as previously suggested. The new logo cannot be called particularly remarkable, but it is simple: recognizable and memorable, and this is the main thing. When creating it, the same font was used, which could be seen on the radiator grille shown in the teaser representing the electric car. It is reported that the registration procedure began on August 7th, most likely it will take several months, as is usually the case in such cases.
The fact that the American automaker plans to introduce an electric version of the Hummer became known back in January 2020. Then it was expected that the presentation of the electric car will take place in May. However, the coronavirus pandemic made its adjustments and the event was postponed to autumn.
However, some characteristics are already known. We know that the Hummer EV will be a 4-door pickup truck powered by a three-motor system that will generate an impressive 1,000 horsepower. It is stated that for acceleration to 60 miles per hour (96.5 km / h) the electric car will need only 3 seconds. At the same time, one battery charge is enough to overcome 600 km at once.
The creators of the Hummer EV rightly suggest that the beginning of the era of electric vehicles may also be the beginning of a renaissance famous car brand, whose history ended in 2010. And if earlier “gluttonous” SUVs were constant targets for criticism from environmental activists, now the Hummer brand will no longer be associated with environmental pollution.
