However, Zuckerberg did not give at least an approximate date for the appearance of the device and did not say anything about what functions it would have, limiting himself to a general phrase about the ability to do “quite elegant things.”
But he said that the launch of smart glasses under the Ray-Ban brand will take place in partnership with EssilorLuxottica and that they will feature an "iconic form factor." This will allow the gadget to immediately become an “instant classic”, which will be another step towards creating full-fledged augmented reality glasses.
These words generally echo the information previously published on the pages of the popular publishing house The Verge, according to which smartwatches from Facebook will not use augmented reality technologies and will not be equipped with a built-in screen. But they will receive a design that will allow them to go well with a variety of clothes. And if so, then it turns out that Facebook is not developing a device for geeks, but something for everyday use by ordinary buyers.
Meanwhile, the Network is already actively speculating about the date of the new device. Many are sure that this will happen as early as 2021, most likely Facebook will introduce Ray-Bans for the holiday season.
