Mars Retail Group has announced upcoming openings at Disney Springs, Mall of America and Berlin.
The retail division of one of the largest US food manufacturers Mars Retail Group announced plans to open three new M&M's stores with a focus on the shopping experience. The flagship monostore with an area of more than 2,200 sq.m will be located in the Mall of America shopping and entertainment center.
Other openings are planned at the Disney Springs mall in Orlando, as well as in Berlin. Each of M&M's stores will use elements of local culture to engage customers, as well as give back to the local community in terms of design and product offerings.
The new stores will feature iconic brand elements such as the Wall of Chocolate, character scenes and creative opportunities, including M&M's-inspired digital photo booths, and a customer-designed candy service.
“We always strive to bring the best of the M&M's brand to consumers in each of our new stores,” commented Patrick McIntyre, Global Retail Director Mars Retail Group. “Our new stores outperform previous formats in terms of design and engagement to create a true connection with shoppers. We strive to combine interesting retail and digital solutions and bring the brand to life in the most exciting way.”
New phase of M&M's retail expansion kicks off with relocation of existing Orlando store to amusement park Walt Disney World Resort. Construction will begin in the coming days and will be completed in 2020. Following the launch of the revamped retail space, M&M's will open its flagship store in the Mall of America. The two-level monostore will feature distinctive midwestern décor. The launch of the flagship will take place at the end of 2020, anticipating the start of the holiday season.
In the first quarter of 2021, Mars Retail Group will introduce a retail concept to the continental European market for the first time. One of the main shopping streets in Berlin has been chosen to house the M&M's store. The interior of the retail space will also be inspired by local art and landmarks of the city.
“The new stores, strategically located in top locations where our customers expect to see us, confirm our goal of connecting with true fun lovers and chocolate connoisseurs,” McIntyre said.
The new M&M's-branded retail spaces will join an existing network of locations across North America, Europe and Asia, led by flagship stores in New York, London and Shanghai.
