McDonald's has announced a partnership with Pokémon with the launch of an all-new line of Happy Meal sets.
The fast food restaurant chain has launched TCG “Match Battle” merchandise. Each set will contain a Pokémon Trading Card Game set - four cards, a spinner and a Pokémon themed coin.
For fans of the game, McDonald's will also provide an opportunity to assemble a complete collection of monsters such as Pikachu, Smeargle, Bovire, Rowlet, Victini, Drumpa and Cutifly. Thus, in the new marketing campaign, McDonald's will focus on Gen & Pokémons, while some of the cards will be related to Pokémon Sun and Moon.
“Pokémon fans who purchase a Happy Meal through mid-September 2022 will receive everything they need to stage a Match Battle with friends. You can find Pokémon friends like Pikachu, Rowlet, Gossifleur, and more, and send them into a match of coin flipping, spinning, and fun with numbers. The last Trainer with a Pokémon in play gets to claim victory,” Pokémon commented.
As of today, the new Happy Meals are on sale in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. Whether the promotion will be extended to other countries is not yet reported.
