Mercedes has introduced new compact models A-Class, A-Class Sedan and B-Class, which have now turned into plug-in hybrids.
A total of three models were presented. Two of them belong to the A-Class - hatchback and sedan Mercedes-Benz A 250 e; and one for the B-Class - the compact MPV Mercedes-Benz B 250 e. The new cars are equipped with the EQ Power gasoline-electric power plant, which includes a 160 hp gasoline engine. and a 102 hp electric motor. This allows the hatchback to accelerate to 100 km / h in 6.6 seconds, the sedan and compact van take a little more - 6.7 seconds. At the same time, the maximum speed can reach 235-240 km / h when using a gasoline engine and 140 km / h when driving an electric motor. Also new items received an 8-speed gearbox with two clutches.
A single charge of a 15.6 kWh battery (it weighs 150 kg and has a special liquid cooling system) is enough to drive up to 67-69 km. At the same time, if you charge the car from the outlet, then it will take about 1 hour and 45 minutes to fully charge. If you charge it at the charging station, then you will have 25 minutes to charge the battery from 10% to 80%. You can check the charge level, as well as find the nearest charging station, using the MBUX infotainment system. This can be done, for example, by using the voice command "Hey Mercedes". As for the interior design, it will remain virtually unchanged.
The company is already accepting orders for new models. The exact start date of sales is still unknown, but it is expected that they should appear towards the end of this year. The cost of the most affordable version in Europe will be about 37,000 euros.
