The gift cost the best player in the world $200,000.
Lionel Messi has kept his promise to make a special gift to all the players of the Argentine team that won the World Cup at the end of the 2022 Mundial in Qatar.
As a gift, the best footballer on the planet presented his team with 35 iPhone 14 Pros made of 24-karat gold. Messi paid about 200 thousand dollars for 35 smartphones made by iDesign Gold.
Each smartphone was uniquely engraved with the name and number of the player in the Argentina national team, as well as the inscription "World Cup Champions 2022".
“He said he wanted a special gift for all the players and staff to celebrate the amazing win but didn’t want the usual gift of watches so I suggested gold iPhones inscribed with their names and he loved the idea,” iDesign Gold CEO Ben told.
Argentina won the World Cup for the first time since 1986, defeating France in the final match. Lionel Messi added the last missing award to his collection and received another Golden Ball as the best soccer player of the year.
