Known mainly to professionals, this German manufacturer of all kinds of power tools began its activity in 1924. The First World War has recently ended, and the German economy is going through a terrible crisis. But this did not stop the engineer Albrecht Schnizler and his companion Julius Closs. Initially, the company was named after the founder - Schnizler GmbH. In 1929, it will be replaced by a more appropriate Metabowerke GmbH, and the products began to be produced under the brand Metabo (derived from the word "Metallbohrdreher" - a term meaning a hand drill). In those years, the company employed a little more than 150 people, and there was only one product - drills for metal. The production was located in the city of Nürtingen, which is located in the state of Baden-Württemberg (Nürtingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany), where the company's headquarters are still located.

The Second World War managed to survive relatively painlessly. And then the desire for innovation and the production of high quality products played a role. Representations abroad begin to appear.

By 1960, more than 1000 people worked at the enterprise. To date, this figure has tripled, and annual revenues are measured in hundreds of millions of euros. And thanks to a series of successful acquisitions, Metabo Group has grown into one of the largest woodworking machine manufacturers in the world. The company's products are available in more than a hundred countries around the world.
