Microsoft has announced the imminent opening of a flagship store in the heart of one of London's most prestigious shopping districts.
The new retail space will appear in close proximity to the Apple flagship, next to the main stores of the world's leading brands, including Nike and H&M. The Microsoft Monostor will be the first for an American company in the European market. Previously, Microsoft's flagship stores were opened in New York and Sydney.
The launch of the new store is part of a campaign to promote a number of products from Microsoft, which began producing laptops and tablets a few years ago and has become a serious competitor to Apple.
Customers of the new flagship in downtown London will have the opportunity to test the latest Microsoft technology, as well as use the service to repair failed products. The store will receive huge display cases, study areas for thematic seminars and a section for providing advice on the use of various equipment.
The London flagship "has been part of our vision for both the physical and digital store experience for a long time," said David Porter, vice president of Microsoft Store.
"Interactive zones surrounded by immersive video walls throughout the store will make this the best place to experience Surface, Windows, Office, Xbox and PC gaming, as well as HoloLens mixed reality devices and other products," Microsoft said in a press release.
The new three-level store with an area of more than 2,000 square meters, which will be located at the intersection of Regent Street and Oxford Street, next to Oxford Circus tube station, will receive first customers on July 11, 2019.
