Called "Reflection", the model is a combination of Moncler's engineering expertise and Rimowa's functional materials.
Italian brand Moncler has unveiled the first customizable travel suitcase in its history. LED display. The limited edition product was created in collaboration with the German suitcase manufacturer Rimowa.
The product launch took place at Milan Fashion Week alongside the latest Moncler capsule collections created in partnership with JW Anderson, Richard Quinn, 1017 ALYX 9SM and Simone Rocha. In collaboration with Rimowa, a suitcase made in aluminum case was presented based on the design of the famous luxury line of the German brand Original Cabin model.
The model is called "Reflection" and is a combination of Moncler's engineering expertise and Rimowa's functional materials. The suitcase, like most of the products of the German brand, has a grooved design, as well as black matte handles and corners, giving a striking contrast. A distinctive feature of the model is the LED screen, which is capable of displaying short messages in the form of a red running line. The inscriptions on the screen can be customized using a special mobile application.
“Moncler Genius highlights some of Rimowa's most enduring values and connects innovation with timeless values. It was a great opportunity to exchange creative approaches and explore new ways of integrating technology into today's travel culture,” commented Alexandre Arno, CEO of Rimowa.
The brands have previously collaborated on other fashion projects in 2014 and 2016. The Rimowa x Moncler Genius “Reflection” is expected to go on sale at the brand’s flagship stores and multi-brand locations worldwide in June 2020.
This is not the first interesting collaboration with other brands for Moncler this winter. Earlier it became known that as part of the Genius project, the company teamed up with designer Rick Owens to create a custom bus for road travel across the United States.
