The new logo reflects the company's ambitious plans and is intended to unite all products produced under the Firefox brand.
The logo of the popular browser Firefox is one of the most recognizable ones - a small red fox surrounding a blue ball symbolizing the Earth. But for the non-profit organization that created it, Mozilla Firefox is slowly becoming more than just a web browser. And there is nothing surprising in the fact that it was decided to develop a new logo that could cover all the new services offered by the developers.
Traditionally, company rebranding rarely involves user feedback, which often means an inevitable backlash. But Mozilla sought to prevent this by demonstrating two then-current developments for Firefox in August 2018 and then asking for input from members of its community. That is, the rebranding was carried out by collective efforts.
The new logo is intended to unite all products manufactured under Firefox brand - the Send file sharing service, the Lockwise password manager and the Monitor hack notification system, and of course, the browser itself. In this case, the logo of the browser itself will become flatter, but still recognizable. Other services will also receive personalized logos that are simple and recognizable. When creating them, bright, colorful gradients made up of orange, yellow, pink, blue and purple were actively used. It turned out almost cartoonish images.
The rebranding is expected to take Firefox's personality to the next level, in line with today's most popular trends. The new logo will position Firefox not just as one application, but as an entire ecosystem.
