The famous Japanese manufacturer of games and game consoles, Nintendo announced its intention to open its first official offline store in Japan. The point of sale should start work in the fall of this year.
The first official Nintendo store appeared in New York
Despite the fact that Nintendo is a Japanese company, for a long time it did not have its own stores in Japan. The very first official store appeared in 2001 in New York and was called The Pokémon Center. It changed its name to Nintendo World Store in 2005 and to Nintendo New York in 2016.
The first Japanese store will be located at Shibuya Parco, located in Shibuya, Tokyo. A couple of years ago, this shopping center was closed for renovation. All major work has already been completed, but it will take about six months to complete the repair.
Nintendo didn't go to great lengths to come up with a name for the store, which would simply be called Nintendo Tokyo. It will be possible to purchase game consoles themselves, accessories for them, software and souvenirs. The store will also serve as a venue for various events. According to the company, Nintendo Tokyo will allow for closer ties with Japanese consumers.
