The new creation of Casio, somewhat reminiscent of the classic model Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, will go on sale on August 21.
G-Shoсk brand of shockproof and waterproof watches from Casio traditionally has fans around the world due to the ability to combine trendy design, manufacturability and durability and, of course, an affordable price for most people in their models.
For an audience that was in search of a certain “coolness” of a new level, but in the same price segment, in 2019 G-Shock introduced the CasiOak watch line. The nickname stuck to the line after watch lovers compared the octagonal silhouette of the G-Shoсk with the classic profile of the famous Audemars Piguet Royal Oak model on one of the specialized forums.
True, if you consider that Royal Oak is available to a few at a price of about 35 thousand dollars, then the new G-Shock GA-2100 model, which is distinguished by a light and, at the same time, futuristic design, was able to attract millions of buyers who are ready to shell out for a somewhat “sublime” ” style is only $100.
The designers themselves, who worked on the novelty, did not set themselves the task of imitating the models of luxury manufacturers. The Japanese masters only tried to reproduce the original DW-5000 model from the 80s in a modern way. But if the plastic versions of the GA-2100 did not pretend to look “like from the big leagues” and easily endured bumps and drops in a plastic case, then things will be a little different with the new G-Shock.
The new GM-2100 line, which replaces the first CasiOak models, will be more like the real “tough guys” from luxury brands. The model is presented in forged metal cases with exquisite design.
G-Shock releases a novelty in gold, silver and graphite case options. The silhouette of the watches included in the new line looks more whimsical, although it retains the profile and sophisticated dial of the previous model. Of course, you have to pay for the extra "coolness" - and the price of the GM-2100 doubles, to $200. But it's still a very good deal compared to Royal Oak.
