Five new Vans sneakers will receive a unique design in honor of the 130th anniversary of National Geographic.
The American skateboard shoe manufacturer is known for its unusual collaborations. This time, nature lovers will be able to find their perfect pair of sneakers. The company has created a new thematic collection that is entirely dedicated to the popular National Geographic publication, known for its articles and photographs on the topic of travel and exploration around the world.
Classic Vans with a textile upper and a waffle sole will be decorated with a variety of nature paintings. There are five options in total, each model has its own design. Some models have leather inserts and each carry the National Geographic and Vans logos.
The Old Skool model has a black top that showcases a Mexican gray wolf on one side and a red-eyed tree frog on the other. A stylized image of ocean waves was chosen for the Authentic model. This is the only model with coordinates printed on the sole.
The Slip-On model bears the image of Pine Island Glacier in Greenland. And the Era model is adorned with the covers of National Geographic magazine with the publication's signature yellow frame. Finally, the Sk8-Hi comes in black with an embroidered oversized National Geographic logo.
