Unlike previous devices from the company, the Fitbit Luxe tracker is focused primarily on the fashion world, and only then on sports activity.
When it comes to fitness trackers, users usually think of a rather simple externally utilitarian device. But the new Fitbit company is able to change this view - the main feature of the Fitbit Luxe model is its stylish design. Such a tracker will look appropriate not only with sportswear in the gym, but also in a wide variety of other situations that have nothing to do with training activity.
Fitbit Luxe is available in several color options. The color of the strap can be white, black and pink, and the case is available in gold, black and silver. In addition to the fitness tracker itself, the company also introduced a number of accessories for it, including straps of different shapes and colors, made from a variety of materials.
As noted by The Verge, the new product is more fashion-oriented than previous Fitbit devices designed specifically for training. The company uses the opposite approach than it used at the time Apple, which initially positioned the Apple Watch as a fashion accessory, and later switched to the world of sports.
Technically, Fitbit Luxe is no different from other solutions from the company. It offers activity tracking and monitoring of steps taken, distance traveled and calories burned, and is capable of receiving calls and text notifications. There are sleep tracking features, and when connected to the phone's GPS, the tracker is able to measure real-time pace and distance when jogging. The case of the device is waterproof, it can be used when exercising in a pool or in a natural reservoir. One battery charge is enough for 5 days of use.
The Fitbit Luxe will be priced at $150. Also, by purchasing the device, the user will also receive six months of a free subscription to the Fitbit Premium service, the cost of which is $9.99 per month. This will open up access to advanced features, including more workout options, advanced sleep cycle tracking, and meditation sessions with Deepak Chopra.
Fitbit Luxe is already available for pre-order on the company's website. The exact date of the appearance of the device on sale is still unknown, the manufacturer claims that this should happen towards the end of May this year.
