Non-profit organization OLPC told about her plans for a tablet computer for children OLPC XO-3. In particular, the idea was voiced that devices could be delivered to very remote settlements by plane and dropped by parachute.
The project to introduce the first laptop model for children has begun its activities, but somehow too sluggishly. The decision was not too interested in the public, and to present something satisfactory OLPC did not succeed. Representatives of the poorest states reacted to the project rather hostilely. In their opinion, their states have much more important tasks than providing their children with dubious devices. For example, to provide its citizens with enough food, medicines and clean water. Also under great doubt is the possibility of deploying a normal service to solve software and hardware problems that are inevitable.

Second project OLPC and remained on paper. The proposed concept of the device looked absolutely fantastic. Even industry leaders like Apple until they are able to imagine something similar, what kind of device for $ 100 can we talk about.
The third project involves a tablet computer with a high-resolution screen, the ability to connect an external keyboard and access to the Internet via satellites. Solar panels are supposed to be used for charging. The device will be equipped with a variety of useful content for children, such as interactive educational books. That is, the project looks no less fantastic than the previous one.
However, the organization says it will be able to introduce such a device by the end of next year. She spoke about her latest plans at the conference open mobile. In addition to being delivered by parachute, another idea came up - computers are delivered to the village and left there for a year, without any intervention. After the expiration of the term, specialists are already landing there, who evaluate the successes that village children have achieved.
