Popular actress Anna Kendrick will take part in an advertising campaign that celebrates the comfort of home and socially distancing entertainment.
Subdivision Frito Lay, which is part of the company PepsiCo, has launched its first holiday online store where consumers can purchase "snack" themed merchandise. Such as bright yellow sweaters, knitted hats and scarves with the logo of Lay's chips, and various other items with snack logos. Cheetos, Doritos, Tostitos and Smartfood. Naturally, visitors will also be able to purchase the main products manufactured under these brands, namely, all kinds of snacks and other similar food products.
This comes at the same time as the relaunch of last year's "Favorite Things" holiday ad campaign, which was a hit with fans of Frito-Lay's products. The commercial featured famous actress and singer Anna Kendrick performing her own version of the classic song "My Favorite Things," first featured in the musical The Sound of Music in 1959. The main idea of the ad is that a holiday is not a holiday at all until you put on your favorite sweater and open up a package of your favorite chips.
The main change made in the advertising campaign compared to last year is due to the coronavirus pandemic and the need to maintain social distancing. The emphasis in the video is on home entertainment, such as gatherings with the family at the holiday table, building a snowman or watching movies together.
The press release says that Frito-Lay aims to make online shopping during the holidays as convenient as possible this year. An earlier study by the company found that 50% respondents this year plan to shop for snacks online during the holidays. This is 15% more than last year.
The Frito-Lay online store is already up and running. The price of the goods offered in it varies widely, from $80 for a hoodie to $10 for a pair of woolen socks. PepsiCo said the company will donate up to $500,000 of sales proceeds to Toys for Tots, a charity that purchases toys for underprivileged toddlers.
