Alibaba Group and Rovio signed a partnership agreement. Alibaba Group will now be able to sell consumer products under the Angry Birds brand.
The agreement was signed on the eve of the worldwide release of the Angry Birds Movie movie.
Alibaba is now an exclusive partner Rovio selling Angry Birds Movie merchandise online. Most items will be on sale or available for pre-order starting May 20, 2016, from the date of the release of Angry Birds Movie in Chinese cinemas (in Russian cinemas, the screening began on May 12, 2016). On the same day, Alibaba will launch the ad campaign on its Tmall, Tmall Magic Box, Youku Tudou and UC Browser platforms.
