The new Patagonia Black Hole bags are made entirely from recycled plastic bottles.
Patagonia has unveiled a new line of iconic Black Hole bags based on recycled plastic bottles. The production of the first batch has already gone 10 million bottles. As more and more bags are produced, the number of recycled bottles will constantly increase. All this is part Patagonia missions on the transition to 100% renewable and recycled materials. To date, 69% new season products are made from recycled materials.
Black Hole bags are very popular with travelers. They are light, durable, water resistant and spacious (as the company claims, they are able to "swallow" things like a black hole). This is a great solution for those looking for a versatile travel bag that can withstand years of rough handling. Well, as a bonus - the realization that by making such a purchase, you will make your own, even if small, contribution to the preservation of the environment.
The new line has a total of 25 models, ranging from large bags on wheels to backpacks and belt bags. Prices range from $29 for the smallest model to $179 for a 100 liter bag. Bags from the new line are already available for sale. At the same time, Patagonia has reduced prices for the previous generation Black Hole.
With the introduction of the line, the company broke its previous record when it introduced a line of recycled clothing on the 95% last winter. For such "green" aspirations, Patagonia has won the love and respect of many consumers in their different countries.
