Company PepsiCo, an American manufacturer of soft drinks and snack foods, most famously Pepsi Cola, according to emerging data, is considering the possibility of a significant reduction in the number of employees. Such a move, along with a revision of existing employee benefits, is designed to reduce the company's costs.
We are talking about reducing the order of four thousand employees, although the exact figure is not called. In total, today about 300,000 thousand people work for the company. And payments, mainly under the pension program, are planned to be reduced by several tens of millions of dollars. At the same time, company representatives say that the pension program will not be curtailed and the situation of non-payment of salaries is guaranteed not to happen.
Such unpopular measures are caused by unfavorable earnings forecasts, experts say that the market share PepsiCo especially in the field of production of soft drinks is steadily falling, while the main competitor of the company - Coca Cola Co. feels more and more confident. Promotions for the past year PepsiCo rose by 1.6%, while Coca Cola Co. managed to reach a figure of 6.4%.
